Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline including angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of adventurers who will separate from the main group to undertake their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as important members in House Halovar could help the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
