England Golf Calls for Treasury Backing for 2030 Solheim Cup Hosting Proposal

Women's Golf Championship Competition

The last Solheim Cup taking place in Europe took place in Spain in 2023, with the next tournament set for Holland in 2026.

In the wake of the latest men's golf championship success, the national golf association is calling on UK authorities to underwrite their proposal to organize the Solheim Cup in the country for the very first occasion.

This renowned competition between the leading female golfers of Europe and the United States has been held twice in Scotland and in Wales yet never in England. An official proposal has been assembled to organize it at The Grove within Hertfordshire in 2030.

Talks to obtain government support started in early spring yet an answer on whether it will be forthcoming is time-sensitive. The hosting rights for the 2030 event are held by the International Management Group who demand a decision before month's end.
