The New England Patriots tied their top unbeaten stretch since the Tom Brady period as they overcame division rivals the New York Jets 27-14 in the NFL

Rookie Henderson led the way with three touchdowns as the Patriots claimed an eight-game winning streak for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Brady's final season with the franchise in 2019

Quarterback Drake Maye accumulated 281 yards and a TD, connecting on 25 of 34 passes

The triumph extends the New England's advantage at the summit of the division as they improved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York bottom after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The visitors had gone in front at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Justin Fields rushing for a five-yard TD to conclude the New York's first possession

But the home team responded in the second period as Henderson rushed for two short rushing scores before the ball carrier caught a pass from Maye at the rear of the end zone halfway into the third quarter to extend the lead to 21-7

"It was a big time for him stepping up, and it's been fantastic for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He aims to be outstanding."

Justin Fields found John Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to close the gap for the visitors but Andy Borregales kicked a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side wrapped up the triumph
